Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has said that he has nothing personal against former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti of Wiper.
The governor was speaking when he was sworn in following his re-election.
“I have nothing against my worthy competitor Wavinya Ndeti. I know she was just a tool in the larger case to sink Alfred Mutua,” he said.
Mutua retained his seat after garnering 237 786 votes (53,24%) against Wavinya's 198 883 votes (44,53%).
The county boss thanked the residents for choosing his to work for another term despite facing a political storm because of his opponents at both the national and county level.
"I want to thank you so much for choosing development and forwardness over rhetoric and backwardness," Mutua said.
The county boss promised to fire all the corrupt leaders in his government after he starts his second term
“I will soon be making major realignments in my government and therefore I ask those corrupt officers who might be in the system to start packing because we are coming for you,” Mutua said.
