A 28-year old woman from Ivory Coast was on Saturday arrested at Moi International Airport in Mombasa for attempting to ferry heroine to her country.
Danho Aude-Bertille who was set to depart for Abidjan, Ivory Coast on the 7th of January 2107, Saturday at 7.40 am was seized with heroin valued at Sh10 million.
Detectives probing the matter believe Aude-Bertille acquired the drugs from Mombasa though further investigations are underway to ascertain that.
The detectives said they were working on a tip off after they received information that the suspect was ferrying drugs.
“She is being detained at the Moi International Airport for further questioning as anti-narcotics officers’ launch investigations,” said regional deputy police boss Akello Odhiambo.
She will be arraigned in Court after we have completed our investigations into the matter.
