Charlse Njagua Kanyi, has floored incumbent MP Maina Kamanda to clinch Starehe parliamentary Jubilee party ticket.
Kanyi who is popularly known as Jaguar, is a local musician who showed interest in politics, saying he was the hope for Starehe electorates, in Nairobi county.
The Kioo hit-maker trounced Kamanda, who is a veteran in the Kenyan politics, after serving Starehe for two terms, between 1998-2002, and 2003-2007.
Several people have congratulated him, and wished him well, through social media.
Jaguar will now face Activist Boniface Mwangi who is vying through the Ukweli Party and Nasa coalition's Steve Mbogo.
