Starehe MP Charles Kanyi (Jaguar) has promised to resettle all traders displaced in the costituency following the demolition of their business stalls.
Jaguar who met President Uhuru Kenyatta in Nairobi on Friday said his leadership will ensure all traders are allocated space to do business and create wealth.
"I met with my good friend, H E President Uhuru Kenyatta and among the issues discussed, we acknowledged the ongoing demolitions within my constituency which have adversely affected small scale traders," the youthful MP said.
"We will work with the National and County Government to resettle displaced traders."
The county government of Nairobi has been demolishing business stalls in Starehe and other constituencies in the city as it seeks to expand and beautify roads.
Governor Mike Sonko told the affected traders the county administration will work with other elected leaders- MPs and Members of the County Assembly in ensuring businessmen and women affected are given space from where they will do business.
Some traders in Starehe had earlier in the weeks resisted the demolition but later came to terms with the exercise and allowed clearing of the roads proceed.
They said they were worried that the county government may not find a place foe them to do business.
