Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama was on Tuesday morning subjected to irreversible embarrassment after he picked a phone call without uttering a word.
Radio Maisha morning show hosts Felix Odiwour alias Jalang'o and Emmanuel Mwashumbe were seeking Nyagarama's intervention over Mercy Mokaira's burial expenses.
The beauty Queen, who succumbed to unknown illness at Kinangop a couple of days ago, is reportedly owed by the county government.
According to sources privy to the Radio Maisha presenters, the county government had neglected Ms. Mokeira despite being reigning Miss World Kenya, Nyamira County upon her death.
"We are calling the governor over the burial arrangements of Mokeira. We are told that the county owes her a lot of money," Jalang'o said.
He added: "We only want the county government to take care of burial expenses. That is all we needed to know."
Despite picking calls, the governor remained mute as millions of people listened to the two presenters on air.
Mokeira, 23, is set to be laid to rest on Friday in her fathers farm at Kebabe in Ekerenyo ward.
