Comedian and radio host Felix Odiwuor better known by his stage name Jalang'o has unveiled his plans to run for the Lang'ata constituency seat come the 2022 general polls.
Speaking on his radio show on Hot 96 Tuesday,Jalang'o said that the move is not only to enable him serve residents of the Nairobi sub-county but also to return the seat to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's ODM party as it has lately been enjoyed by the other side of the political divide.
''I want to come and take Lang'ata.ODM has lost in Lang'ata in over three decades.I want to go back and bring the pride of Baba in Lang'ata,'' he was quoted by the Standard Digital.
The seat is currently held by Jubilee's Nixon Korir whom Jalang'o has promised a fierce battle in 2022.
Odinga once held the position and is its longest serving representative in the national assembly.
Jalas disclosed that he was initialy planning to vie for the Siaya senatorial position but backed down in fear of Senator James Orengo whom he termed as a bigwig who running against would be an outright and broad daylight suicide.
''Who wants to compete with a person who does not campaign at all but still wins?I have decided to instead bring the race back to Nairobi,'' the comedian is further quoted by the paper.
