After a month or so of rumours and denials, celebrated radio presenter Felix Odiwuor famously known as Jalang’go has left Radio Maisha.
Jalan’go, who was crowned as the most popular radio personality in Kenya a month ago, left the Standard Group owned radio station, with his next destination still unclear.
His last appearance on air was last week on Friday, where he jokingly kept mentioning of joining politics, and has since gone missing for the whole of this week.
Rumors indicate he has joined the campaign team of Governor Ali Joho and Kisumu Senator Anyang’ Nyongo, where he will work as a communication consultant and entertainer.
According to a source at the Standard, the self-assured comedian will no longer be on air at the Mombasa-road based station.
“Yes, he left last week and won’t be on air anymore on Radio Maisha,” confirmed the source.
Jalang’o hinted at moving from the station on Monday, when he posted on his Instagram page a teaser saying ‘Ne journey begins today’.
The morning show on the station has been one of the most listened to show in the country, and his loss is a big blow to the station that has risen to second position as the most listened to in the country, behind radio Citizen.
His chemistry with Alex Mwakideu was one that got other media stations envious, and their fun filled laughter kept fans glued every single morning.
However, despite the ruomours that he will be joining politics, another source at the station indicate that he is actually moving to Hot 96, where they will be hosting the morning show with Jeff Koinange.
It remains to be seen where his next stop will be, but one thing is for sure, he has left Radio Maisha.
