Garissa Governor Nathif Jama has promised to work with the stakeholders to promote tourism sector in Garissa County.
Speaking in a meeting on Friday with stakeholders, the governor urged the hospitality investors to invest in the county so as to accommodate more tourists in the county.
The governor said the sector will generate lots of revenue if it will be exploited fully.
“As a county, we are working on a plan to attract thousands of visitors to sample the county’s endangered fauna and flora. So we appeal for more investors to invest in the tourism sector,” said Jama.
He added that he is working with the National Government to improve security, which has been a challenge over the few years.
“Garissa will be the safest county. We will work day and night to eliminate the entire terror group who have been causing the threat in our county,” he added.
