Jama issued the sentiments in response to Duale's allegations that he was squandering county resources.

"If Duale thinks he is more competent than me, then he should join me in the gubernatorial race for Garissa county. He does not have to criticize everything," Jama stated.

The new supremacy battle resurfaced after Jama hired a private chopper at a cost of Sh5 million to ferry him to a function where he was to oversee the distribution of relief food in Ijara and Hulugho regions.

However, Jama pointed out that Duale should be very sure of the alleged amounts used before making any public statements on issues he is not sure about.

Concerning the allegations, Duale affirmed that the monies used to hire Jama's private chopper could have been spent to buy relief food.

He further stated the function should have been delegated to a junior county official to cut down on logistical costs.

However, Duale is yet to respond to Jama's invitation to the gubernatorial race.
