Former Garissa governor Nathif Jama has insisted that all the county workers were hired legally.

The politician, who has moved to court in protest of Jubilee’s Ali Korane’s win, has dared him to fire the county workers after he asked county public service board to furnish him with names of all officers at the county for his audit purposes.

The newly elected had put Jama on spot for misusing public funds on what he termed as ghost workers, claims which Jama has denied on several occasions.

The former county boss, who spoke on Tuesday, termed the allegations of the governor as baseless, adding that the right channels were followed before the workers were hired during his reign in office.

“All the county staff were legally employed by the county public service board. To the best of my knowledge, we dint have any ghost workers. The claims are mere propaganda being peddled by a few individuals,” said Jama, as quoted by Star.

He took a swipe at the governor for attempting to fire the county workers saying it is unacceptable for him to opt for such an move when all the required procedures were followed to the latter during the process of recruitment.
