Former Garissa county governor Nathif Jama has dared the new county boss Ali Korane to go ahead and sack county employees whom he feels were not properly recruited.

This follows Korane's threats that he will lay off all county workers who were not legally hired during Jama's administration.

Korane claimed that Jama's government was full of ghost workers and an audit should be done to lay off the workers.

But Jama on Tuesday rubbished the allegations saying all the employees were recruited legally and through the county public service board.

Jama said the workers if sacked will challenge the illegality in court.

“All the county staff were legally employed by the county public service board. To the best of my knowledge, we didn't have any ghost workers. The claims are mere propaganda being peddled by a few individuals,” said Jama.

He criticized Korane for ordering for the list of workers.

“Even if there is a problem, it's for the county public service board to look into the matter. County employees should not be sacked just because the new county government is in place” noted the former county boss.

Jama of Wiper party on Tuesday filed a petition at Garissa High court to challenge Korane of Jubilee who won the seat in August 8 polls.
