Garissa Governor Nathif Jama has denied claims that he pocketed Sh5.2 billion from county offices.

According to his lawyer, Ahmednassir Abdullahi said there was no truth in the allegations by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.

"EACC CEO Halakhe Waqo is being used by Nathif's opponents. The documents are a forgery. Halakhe will be personally responsible as no investigations have been done in the county,” he said. "This shows how low the commission can go to do a job for people who pay them,” he added.
