Garissa governor Nathif Jama on Monday donated hundreds of reading materials to the Garissa Vocational Training Centre.
Jama, who was in the company of several county leaders, gave out the books in a mini function that was rich in pomp and colour.
The county chief also officially opened five newly constructed classrooms at the institution, noting that the new buildings would mark the end classroom shortages.
"Today we open these buildings at the institution. It is now up to you students to do your best in academics as there are sufficient resources for you," stated Jama.
Before finalising his visit at the institution, Jama issued out certificates to over 100 graduands who were under the sponsorship of Great Garissa County scholarship programme.
He also congratulated the beneficiaries for doing their best in their studies and wished them well as they get into the labour market.
