Addressing the public in Garissa on Friday, the county boss termed the remarks by area MP as 'utter nonsense’ that is only fanning hatred and ethnic tensions even as the country draws nearer to the electioneering period.

Governor Nathif called on the President to stand up and censure his troops in order to calm the growing tensions as the country hurtled towards the much talked-of 2017 general polls.

Recently, Duale made news headlines when he claimed that Odinga was receiving monthly stipends from the governors allied to the opposition including Nathif himself. Furthermore, the majority leader also disclosed that the said governors foot the bills of Raila's frequent trips to their respective counties.

“I can confidently confirm that during Raila’s recent visits to Wajir and Garissa counties, the choppers he used were paid for by the governors, and I have full evidence to prove it,” said Duale.

Duale also called on Odinga to refund the millions of shillings he has so far received as allowances, stipends, pocket money and hotel fees from the counties.
