Governor Jama on Tuesday hosted representatives from the Re Musa sub clan of the larger Abduwak clan at his Garissa residence.
Though the details of the meeting have not yet been made public, a source privy to the unfoldings informed this writer that the agenda of the consultative meeting majorly revolved around the 2017 elections.
The meeting with the members of the Abduwak clan is expected to raise jitters across the county, given the fact that the clan has already endorsed Ali Korane to battle Jama come the next general elections.
However, in what is viewed as a witty way to rid off speculations on the resolutions of the meeting, Governor Jama via social media handle stated that the meeting was just a forum to discuss how to improve service delivery across the county.
"Today hosted a delegation from Re Musa sub clan of the larger Abduwak Clan at my residence in Garissa for a wider consultative meeting. The delegation comprised of business community, youths, Ulumas and elders. The delegation thanked my leadership for the progress of we have made in Garissa county," read a social media update by the governor.
Even after the meeting, political analysts in Garissa view that Governor Jama will never reap much from the community given that the fact that the clan has a long history of firm decision making that is not easy to manipulate.
