With less than two weeks to the polls, the two candidates have continued to transverse different areas in the county to rally the electorate behind their bids.
Both the candidates are not ready to leave any stone unturned as the race becomes tougher. Addressing a rally in Garissa, Jama said that he is the best candidate for the seat since he has performed well for the past four years.
“I have tried my best to build an all-inclusive government by employing people from virtually all the communities. Most importantly, I treasure peace,” he said.
Korane, on his part says that the region needs a change in leadership since Jama has failed. He asked the residents to join hands in voting for him and President Uhuru Kenyatta together with his Deputy William Ruto as they seek to retain power in August.
“Let us join hands in weeding out this government that is run by NASA. I want to assure the President that come august 9 we will take over the reins of power, “ he said during a rally on Sunday.
