Residents of the vast North Eastern county of Garissa have been warned against engaging in indecent acts of ethnicity and negativity in the area.
Speaking during the Madaraka Day fete on Wednesday in his home county, Governor Nathif Jama called on residents to shun tribal politics hinting that such engagements would only work against them.
"I urge you to be focused in development initiatives. For those spreading tribal politics, your days are numbered for we shall never accept such engagements to ruin our county,’’ said Jama.
Regarding the cold reception accorded to him over the weekend in his tour to Balambala sub-county, the governor said investigations were underway and the perpetrators shall be dealt with accordingly by the stipulated lawful actions.
‘'A section of area residents in Balambala sub-county engaged in hooliganism and security personnel are conducting their investigations. We should desist from such unlawful actions," added Jama.
