The county government of Kiambu is planning to begin renovating Jamhuri market in Thika town.Governor Ferdinand Waititu says renovation works at the market will begin soon so as to make it conducive for both traders and customers."To make the market conducive for both traders and customers my government will soon start rehabilitation of the market roads, improve the sewerage system, construct new shades as well as install market beam lights (Mulika Mwizi)," said the governor on Saturday when he visited the market."This is in line with our promise to the great people of Kiambu of ensuring that traders get modern markets with basic amenities for their businesses to grow," he added.The market is currently in a deplorable condition.Below are some of the photos from governor Waititus visit to the market:
