Margret Ngunjiri, the Deputy CEO Jamii Sacco has advised members to join the housing corporative sector, which is beneficial to them mostly upon retirement.
Speaking in Probations Hall in Thika where the members held a seminar on the Sacco’s new products, the leader advised the members to go for developmental loans with as little as ten percent interest.
She pointed out vehemently that housing and land sector are appreciating so fast, and therefore it was essential for them to join.
"we advise you to take land and plot building loans that as you can all see are appreciating so fast; lands that were worth hundred thousand last year are today worth millions," she told the members as she advised them on the best venture.
The Sacco, which started in 1972 has a country membership of 14,000, and wishes to increase it to 30,000 by year 2020
The region’s 57 members were also reminded to introduce the youngsters to the Sacco, to help them benefit from their products like mortgage financing that comprises insures of motorbikes and posh mill.
The issue of non-responded office calls was raised where members decried delayed responses.
In response, the deputy CEO assured them introduction of more phone numbers and also advised members to use the SMS platforms.
Members also called on their leaders to increase the grace period issued after access to certain form of loans like developmental, claiming one month would not be enough to start repaying the loan.
