Jubilee Party losers in Machakos County are complaining of being shortchanged by top party leadership. Led by their party candidate in the gubernatorial race Lemi Muia, the losers demanded the removal of an MCA nominated to County Assembly.
The group says that their preferred candidate was shortchanged and Antony Mulu was given that chance. They said that the party secretariat chose Mulu as the youth representative against their wish.
They addressed the press in Machakos Town on August 31st. Leme said that Antony Mulu was not in their original list to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
“I am surprised. There seem to be changed in the list. The nominee is not a voter in Machakos county,” Muia said.
Lemi Muia was floored in the August 8th pools by Maendeleo Chap Chap leader Alfred Mutua who retained his seat. Wiper’s Wavinya Ndeti came second and disputed Mutua’s win. However, Mutua has pledged to work with everyone including former Senator Johnstone Muthama to develop Machakos County.
