Nakuru Jubilee Christian church plans to introduce mentorship classes for Nakuru citizens. JCC pastor Andrew Mwangi said the classes, set to be introduced in July this year, will give lessons on basic life skills. He was speaking at the church over the weekend where he added that this was meant to give directions in both the spiritual and business levels of the students. “We want to encourage a great scripture-based group which will show people how to make it in life without applying shrewd methods,” he cited. The pastor said the classes will also host guest speakers in the business world who would give their tips about success. “Many people in Nakuru have a lot of potential but they have never had the chance of being guided by people into discovering it. In most cases, people hide under a cocoon and do not want to venture into the future. These classes are meant to provoke them into thinking more about becoming problem solvers for the area instead of relying on the government,” he added. Mwangi appealed to residents to come for the free lessons. “It’s open to everyone and not necessarily members of this church. We are seeking to empower all, especially the women and youths,” he added.
