Media is a very lucrative industry. Most media personalities do not struggle with life as is the norm with most other Kenyans.

Actually they are among the richest people on the land. Though it may be difficult to notice this due to the fact that most media personalities always decide to let their private life remain private.

However recently, Hot96 FM presenters Jeff Koinange and Phelix Odiwuor, alias Jalango decided to reveal their net-worth to their listeners.

Copying the manner in which President Uhuru Kenyatta's nominees were being asked questions during the recently concluded vetting, they took turns to ask each other to declare how much each owns.

It was the Emmy Award winning journalist Jeff Koinage who started. Jalas as the Chairman of the committee asked him that

"Suppose he was chosen as the Cabinet Secretary for Information and Communication Technology and considering that this is a post that comes with temptations, so integrity is key, so can you tell us your net worth before getting into this job?"

The Emmy Award winning journalist Jeff Koinage answered back and said that he is worth Ksh50 million.

This reveals that players in this are doing extremely well because even recently Jalango revealed that Jeff bought him a wrist watch worth Sh1.3 million.

Basically you can't spend more than what you earn. His counterpart MC Jalango also drives a Bentley. Currently a Bentley car model goes in the excess of Sh19.5m. Only few men can afford this.

If this is anything to go by, then I would advise any student or anybody who is still clueless about what he or she wants to do in life to consider venturing in journalism and who knows?

They could be the next Jalangos and Maina Kagenis.
