Followers of self-proclaimed god Jehovah Wanyonyi in Chemororoch village, Uasin Gishu County have remained hopeful that their god is still alive and he will return.
I an interview with a local radio station, High Priest Eliab Masinde maintained that Wanyonyi is still alive and that he had only gone to ‘continue’ with the work of Jesus Christ.
“Jehovah came in this world on his own will, he came to prepare the way for Jesus Christ. Therefore Jehovah cannot die, I am urging you to remain faithful as he will again come back on his own will,” Masinde said.
In addition, the High Priest said that despite the fact that Wanyonyi is not around, he had set up the structures and that everything continues without any disruption.
“Jehovah had planned for us. We have church elders and that everyone knows his role, everyone knows what needs to be done,” Masinde added.
In 2015, it was confirmed by the area chief that he had issued a burial permit to Wanyonyi’s family for his burial but Masinde has remained firm that their ‘god’ is still alive, working in far lands and he will come back again at his own time and will.
