Jhanda was speaking in Kisii during a fundraiser function, where he rated the current CIC Boss best, to manage the populous Kisii County.

He countered allegations from his critics that he is buying voters a head of 2017, saying that he is only concerned with the economic status of Nyaribari Chache residents vowing to continue with helping where possible.

“Charles Nyachae is eligible for the governorship in our county and therefore, let us all support him for the county top job come 2017. I condemn those against my willingness to help my people in a small way to meet their basic needs, because I use no one’s money to move around,” he said.

However, he conditionally said he will support the current area MP Richard Tong’I, but only if he is delivering to the constituents.

“I will support Tong’i, but again, am a watchdog and I will put him on check as one way on ensuring that he is delivering to the constituents,” he said.

“You should not use the pending court cases as an excuse to delayed development, the one year you have been in office should have bore fruits,”  Jhanda addressed the MP.

Zaheer Jhanda contested for Nyaribari Chache MP in a closesly tussled March 2013 general election via URP ticket, but lost to Chris Bichage, whose election was later nullified by the Kisii High Court on grounds that the election was marred with irregularities.

He withdrew in the race and drummed up support for the youthful Richard Tong’i in a by-election which was held in December 2013.
