Former KTN investigative journalist Mohamed Ali, popularly known as Moha Jicho Pevu, has defended his move of asking Kenyans of goodwill to fund his campaign as he seeks to replace Nyali MP Hezron Awiti in the August elections.

Moha was however criticised by a section of Kenyans for asking for financial support.Speaking during an interview with NTV on Monday, Moha said that he asked support from all Kenyans who are willing to stand with him as he follows his political dream, adding that he has so many close friends who are ready to support him in different ways including funding his campaign.“I put the post on social media because I want to get support from all Kenyans. I have so many friends who can fund my campaign but once I get there, they will want me to return the favour and that is why I call for all Kenyans to help me so that I work for them and not a few individuals,” said Moha, as quoted by Baraka FM.The outspoken aspirant also lashed out at politicians who are fond of dishing out money to the electorate in a bid to get votes in return.“Every time I go to campaign in Nyali people ask me for something small but I don’t encourage that,” he added.
