Former KTN investigative journalist Mohammed Ali has joined Orange Democratic Party (ODM) as he seeks to clinch the Nyali Parliamentary seat currently held by Hezron Awiti. 

In a tweet on Wednesday, the Orange party confirmed Moha’s move to join the Raila Odinga-led side, stating that the political outfit is committed to nurturing young leaders.“Hon @MohaJichoPevu, aspirant for Nyali at Orange House Earlier today. The #ODM remains committed to nurturing youth people. # MbelePamoja,” read the tweet.The move comes barely a week after Moha officially announced that he will be contesting for the Nyali Parliamentary seat.“1st March 2017. Today I officially declare that I am in the race to be the next Member of Parliament for Nyali Constituency. I have stood up for you for over a decade, and used my voice to amplify yours. Now, I ask you to stand with me,” he wrote on a Facebook post. The renowned journalist turned politician will battle it out with Said Saleem and John Mcharo among other aspirants. Moha will be banking on the support of Raila and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho to win the seat during the August elections.
