President Uhuru Kenyatta has been urged to form an all-inclusive Cabinet in a bid to help the country heal from last year’s divisive politics.
Addressing the press in Eldoret, former Presidential candidate Cyrus Joringo challenged the Head of State to utilize the opportunity to bring the country together.
“I am appealing to the President to embrace inclusivity when forming the new Cabinet as one of healing the country which has been divided along political and tribal lines after the repeat presidential election last year,” said Jirongo.
He warned that no part of the country should feel locked out in the sharing of various slots in the National government.
The former Lugari MP said the President and his deputy, William Ruto, understand the desires of citizens owing to the political experience.
“We hope the President, who is serving his last term in office, will come up with a team that will be acceptable to all Kenyans and enables the country move forward in political, social and economic development,” he said.
In Embu, residents lauded the changes the President made to drop Cabinet secretaries who did not perform.
Led by Eliud Njiru, a youth leader, they said the changes will facilitate the development of Kenyans under the Jubilee government.
He said in the past government, development was being dragged by CSs who did not perform as expected and there was the need for change to foster development.
Meanwhile, Sirisia MP John Waluke has assured Bungoma and Trans Nzoia residents that Water Cabinet secretary Eugene Wamalwa will continue to serve in Uhuru’s government.
Waluke who is also the county Jubilee chairman asked the Luhya community to exercise patience as they wait for Uhuru’s final Cabinet list.
“Let us not start criticising President Uhuru for not naming Wamalwa among those he has retained in Cabinet,” said Waluke.
