Speaking on Friday at St. Patricks Mosocho mixed secondary school in Kitutu Chache South Sub-county during prize giving ceremony, JKUAT Kisii campus Deputy Director Dr. Walter Bichang’a said they had been permitted by the Varsity senate to have the program in Kisii campus to offer terminal training or entrepreneurial and farming skills.

Dr. Bichang’a said they have signed a memorandum of understanding with Nyamira county government and they are slated to sign another MoU with the Kisii government before they commence the programs.

“We signed a MoU with the Nyamira county government on 12th May 2015, and we are signing another one with the Kisii county government so that we can start the programs,” said the Deputy Director.

Dr. Bichang’a said the Vernacular programs would help mothers be equipped with knowledge on how they carry out their business and other projects.

“Our target is the illiterate people who cannot understand programs better in other languages outside Ekegusii. Through the introduction of the vernacular programs we will help them understand better the techniques of excelling in business and other spheres,” he noted.

He added, “God created us in different ways. Therefore, you cannot compel one be like you but help them in promoting their ability.”

Dr. Bichang’a appealed to anybody interesting to enrol the three month course so that they may learn emerging ways of carrying out businesses and farming, which he said will empower them economically.
