The inaugural Miss Tala beauty contest was held Friday overnight at Eagles Hotel Tala.
The event attracted hundreds of fans who were willing to bear with the chilling night cold and drizzle to witness the contest.
The event was sponsored by office of the women representative Dr Susan Musyoka and she was also the chief guest at the event.
As she addressed the attendants after crowning the winner, she expressed her commitment to better the life of the young people in Machakos county by availing opportunities for them to discover themselves.
She also called on her fellow leaders to prioritise the interest of the young people and in activities that can help them discover their talents and potential.
"The young people form the biggest part of our population in Kenya if our country is set to prosper the young people are very key. We must help them discover themselves," she said.
The winner Miss Joan Wayua was crowned a few minutes to 4 am in what brought the wonderful event to an end.
