During his tour of the region, he wooed Kisumu residents to support him by voting him in as the president during the forthcoming general elections.

Despite the region being a perceived political stronghold for the NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga, he was still able to get a big following with some residents pledging their support from him.

He also urged the residents to maintain peace and shun violence before and after the elections for the prosperity of the nation.

He told other aspirants at different levels to campaign peacefully without causing division among people.

He however dismissed the claims of grabbing land at Kanyakwar in Kisumu, a piece of land adjacent to the Kisumu International Airport.

He said that the land in question had been bought by him as part of his investments as any Kenyan would do.

Through this he claimed he was being nationalist; demonstrating that one can buy a piece of land in whatsoever part of the country that one may prefer.

He also urged the IEBC to deliver a free, transparent, credible and verifiable elections so that the country may not drift to what happened in 2007/2008 that saw many lives lost and thousands displaced.
