Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho together with Kenya Red Cross Secretary General Dr Abbas Gullet, commissioned the newly built and fully equipped Maternal Theatre and a Youth Friendly Centre at the Tudor Sub-County Hospital.
The duo said the theatre will enhance access to quality maternal healthcare services especially for those in the informal settlements surrounding the facility.
Joho said it will also assist in decongesting the Coast General Hospital which is already overwhelmed by maternal cases.
"My esteemed gratitude goes to the Kenya Red Cross for their solid partnership with the County Government of Mombasa and also funding this noble project through the European Union and the Danish Red Cross," said Joho on Thursday.
