Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has registered a new political party, Gatundu South lawmaker Moses Kuria has claimed.
According to Kuria, Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi are planning to ditch ODM hence the need to register the new party.
Through his Facebook page, Kuria stated that the two leaders are unable to lead an economic boycott at the Coast hence calls to breakaway
On Friday, Joho and Kingi announced that the Coast region was planning to begin the process of seceding from Kenya due to marginalization since independence.
"Their secession talk is because they cannot lead an economic boycott in Coast lest they face the wrath of the Somali-Arab business interests in Mombasa and Malindi. They are preparing to jettison out of NASA and ODM and they have already registered a political party for this purpose," wrote Kuria.
On Friday, the opposition National Super Alliance called on its supporters to boycott products of Safaricom, Bidco and Brookside as a way of protest under the National Resistance Movement.
According to NASA, the boycott is the only way the government can listen to their grievances.
NASA wants the current IEBC to be reconstituted and hold a fresh poll within the next 90 days.
