The outspoken governor claimed that the government had interfered with the process of devolution despite the promises made in the last general election.

According to Joho, the Jubilee government has not set viable mega projects in various parts of the nation including Nyanza and Coast region.

"The current mega projects were initiated during the grand coalition government between retired President Mwai Kibaki and Raila," he said.

Speaking to 400 ODM delegates at CITAM hall in Kisumu city, Joho called upon the leaders to ensure Raila unseats President Uhuru Kenyatta in order to realise the fruits of devolution.

"We don't want to see out leaders and supporters fighting over non-development issues ... We must remain united in all out strongholds to defeat Jubilee in the first round of the 2017 presidential race," said Joho.

He urged Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) members to rally behind the former prime minister to ensure his bid for State House becomes a reality.
