Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho who is the ODM deputy party leader has been accused of favoritism and meddling in the party's primaries, following the shambolic exercise in the Coast region. However, ahead of the repeat of the exercise in some of the polling centres in the region on Wednesday, Joho denied claims that he has preferred candidates, adding that it's upon the electorate to elect the leaders of their choice.Joho who was addressing journalists at Orange House on Tuesday dismissed the allegations as mere propaganda and asked aspirants to concede defeat if they lose in the nominations.“As a party that embraces democracy, we will not impose any candidates on the electorate. We will strive to conduct a fair and credible nomination exercise,” said Joho.Joho's statement comes amid threats by a section of aspirants in Mombasa and Kwale Counties to ditch the party over claims that the process was done unfairly in favour of some candidates allegedly preferred by Joho.Hamisi Domoko who lost to Mishi Mboko in the Likoni MP nominations is accusing the fiery Governor of taking the party as his own personal property, sentiments that were shared by Gombato Bongwe ward MCA Omar Boga, who claimed that Joho conspired in rigging in his Msambweni parliamentary seat rival Suleiman Dori.
