Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has said if Opposition leader Raila Odinga replaces any of the other two CORD principals with Mr Joho it would add no value to his presidential quest.

Dr Khalwale who is also Ford Kenya’s deputy party leader faulted Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho’s rise in CORD’s affiliate the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.

“The constituencies controlled by Wetang’ula and Kalonzo and those controlled by Joho, will never cross in any way. Joho does not control the Wiper zones in Mombasa, nor does he have any clout over any of Ford Kenya’s zones,” said Dr Khalwale.

Dr Khalwale dismissed Joho’s influence saying he is not at the same level with the two other CORD principal’s, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka.

“Joho is just a deputy of Raila in ODM. That is all. No one can put him at the level of Wetang’ula and Kalonzo. The only person he can compete with at his level is the other ODM deputy party leader, Governor Oparanya,” said Dr Khalwale.

Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula has recently differed with his colleagues in the coalition over the proposal to register the coalition as a political party.
