Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has been conspicuously missing in the local political scene during the last couple of days as he campaigns for NASA presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga. However, his campaign back home has been well covered.
Dr. William Kingi who is Joho’s running mate in the governor race has stepped in to fill his shoes as he bankrolls the county chief’s re-election campaigns.
With the Governor keen to cast his political net wide, his campaigners have opted to simple campaigns where they reach the majority of the county residents.
Door-to-door campaigning is what Dr. Kingi has embraced in the past few days he has been on the ground on vote-hunting mission.
Saturday, the campaign team toured the populous Mvita and Nyali constituencies where they interacted with the locals even as they sell their agenda.
Besides door-to-door campaigns, the team which is keen to lure the youth has embraced a simple mode of dressing that appeal to the youthful population which constitutes majority of the voters as per the IEBC register.
The campaign team has also been keen on message delivery as the message is well-packaged for the target audience to know why the current regime is worth re-election.
