Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho should consider working with Deputy President William Ruto if he is to realize his political potential, notes former Kisauni MP Ananiah Mwaboza.

Joho is a popular figure within the opposition ranks and many believe that he is the man to take over from NASA leader Raila Odinga should the former Prime Minister finally hang his political boots.

Mwaboza, however,  has a different opinion. To him, Joho has no future in ODM where he is the Deputy party leader as he is only used to finance the party's activities.

"Joho is being used because of his ability to fund party activities and because of his position in the party. He will get nothing in return because ODM has its owners," the former lawmaker was quoted by the Standard.

While urging the firebrand County Chief to team up with Ruto ahead of 2022, Mwaboza said that his future looks bright outside ODM.

" I'm urging governor Joho to look for political avenues where he will reap big in 2022. He should turn to Ruto," he said.

Joho elevated his rising political star even further when he attended Odinga's January 30 ' swearing in' which was skipped by the former Premier's co-principals.
