The race for Mombasa and Uasin Gishu gubernatorial race is taking contrasting shape 24 days to the August 8, polls.
According to latest findings by research company Infotrak incumbent Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho is leading in the popularity rating against his closest rivals, businessman Suleiman Shahbal, Senator Hassan Omar and Vibrant Party candidate and Nyali MP Hezron Awiti.
Infotrak poll puts Joho (ODM) with 63% popularity, ahead of Jubilee’s Suleiman Shahbal who gets 15%.Wiper’s Hassan Omar is third with 4.8 % while Nyali MP Hezron Awiti has 3%.

In Uasin Gishu, Jubilee's candidate and incumbent Governor Jackson Mandago is trailing businessman Zedekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki who is vying on an independent ticket.
Of the total respondent polled 54.2% prefer Buzeki while 42.1% said they would vote Mandago while another 3.7% are undecided.
