Mombasa governor Hassan Ali Joho met practitioners on matters related to Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), Wednesday.

He highlighted the need to keep the conversation going in manifestation of being a Strong City.

He emphasised the global shift towards Cities and the role that governors and mayors around the world continued to play in legitimising the voice of residents and the principle of neighbourhood.

During the event, stakeholders shared the role and the need of enhanced networks within Africa as part of the greater global Network.

In making the County governments contribution towards the proposed action plan for CVE, for Mombasa, Joho emphasised that efforts towards a Strong City were incremental.

''The process is as dynamic as the residents of the City, the conversations never stop and its fullness cannot be reduced to a one of action plan. It requires constant community engagement and shift from a security focus,'' he said.
