Nyali MP Hezron Awiti has scoffed at Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho over his remarks that Wiper Party has no room in the county and the larger Coast region.

Awiti said Joho’s statement amounts to lack of respect to Wiper, which is a member of the National Super Alliance (NASA).Awiti, who has declared interest in the Mombasa governor's seat, claimed that Joho is depending on ODM's popularity at the Coast to survive politically, adding that the governor cannot survive without the support of Raila Odinga.“Governor Joho should stop making noise because as we know he cannot survive politically without Raila Odinga's help,” said Awiti, as quoted by the Nation. The MP further said that Joho will not be re-elected in the August 8 poll.“Governor Joho should prepare for a humiliating defeat in the August 8 elections because we are determined to send him packing,” he said.Awiti who is seeking Wiper's endorsement exuded confidence in clinching the post, adding that Wiper party will win all seats in the Coast region. This comes after Joho on Sunday said that Mombasa is an ODM zone, with analysts warning that the remarks could cause disunity in the newly formed alliance.
