Joho further said residents of those regions were poor like many Kenyans but were only being intoxicated by their leaders to hate Odinga.

In an explosive speech on Thursday, the Mombasa governor said the leaders from the two regions were holding their communities at ransom for their own benefit.

“Recently, I met a person from Central Kenya and challenged him to vote a different person. He only dismissed the idea and said won’t vote Raila Odinga because he is bad. That is the wrong perception that has been created on them by their leaders,” he said.

“These people are poor just like many other Kenyans. They have been radicalized by people who are holding them at ransom to hate other innocent Kenyans. This is what they should learn and change,” he added.

He urged residents of the two regions to ‘wake up’ and many a change in 2017 elections by voting Mr. Odinga.
