Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho is said to have arrived in Dubai, from Estonia in Europe.
Joho's communication team led by his spokesperson Richard Chacha said the ODM deputy party leader would visit Miguna Miguna, NASA coalition activist who was deported to Dubai on Wednesday night.
He had been detained in a toilet at JKIA's Terminal 2, since Monday, March 26, after he arrived from Canada where he had been deported on February 6.
On Thursday morning, Miguna sent a message through social media saying he was sick and required urgent medication. He also said he had been drugged.
Joho who was to fly to Kenya on Thursday, cut short his flight to check on Miguna, who was admitted at a Dubai hospital at the airport.
He was in Estonia for an official visit that sought to forge friendly working environment between the country and Mombasa.
The scheduled visit came even as a section of Mombasa residents decried Joho's silence since Miguna arrived in the country.
