Mombasa County Governor Hassan Joho has brushed off claims that his Kwale counterpart Salim Mvurya is considering quitting ODM to join the Jubilee government.
Addressing ODM supporters who had gathered during a rally at Makadara Grounds on Thursday, Joho said the county boss had no intentions of quitting ODM.
“As the deputy party leader of ODM, I personally held talks with Governor Mvurya and I can confirm that he has no intention of decamping to Jubilee,” said Joho.
The Mombasa governor said that the rumours were being propagated by enemies of the party who were out to taint its image.
Mvurya has been on the spot light in the recent past over his failure to support some of the party decisions like the Malindi by-elections and the anti-IEBC protests.
