Speaking during an interview with NTV before the Opposition meeting at the Bomas of Kenya on Wednesday, the governor said the conversation surrounding his security should stop, terming it as a non-issue.

"The government at the moment does not provide with me with security and I am fine with that. I feel safe so far. I want to put a permanent stop to this conversation," he said.

"Even though they are claims that my security detail has been reinstated, I can confirm that nothing of the sort has occurred," he added.

The governor who drove himself to the event, said he is doing fine without the government's security personnel, as he has nothing to fear.

"I used to drive myself before I joined politics and I will certainly do so after my term in office," he said.
