Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has revealed plans to bring American rapper Nicki Minaj to Mombasa.

Joho said bringing internationally acclaimed artists to the region will boost tourism.

This comes after American RnB singer Chris Brown rocked the coastal city with an electrifying performance alongside Nigeria's WizKid and Tanzania's Ali Kiba.

If Joho' s words are anything to go by, then fans of the Anaconda hitmaker are in for a big treat.

Mombasa has earned international recognition after hosting artistes from all corners of the world.

Despite facing criticism for hosting Tanzania's Diamond Platnumz and Ali Kiba, Joho has maintained that he will continue bringing artistes to the county in a bid to boost the tourism sector.

Nicki Minaj is one of the highest paid artists not only in America but in the entire world. Last year, the talented artiste was paid Sh200 million to perform in Angola.

Kenya will be the third African nation to host her after Angola and South Africa.

Speaking at the Mombasa Golf Club after Chris Brown's performance Joho said he would update fans on Minaj's tour once the plans are finalised.
