Mombasa governor Hassan Joho now dares Deputy President to face him off in Mombasa if he wishes to participate in local politics.

Relationship between the two leaders has hit its low in recent months with Joho accusing the country’s number two of meddling in local affairs.

And on Tuesday, Joho accused Ruto of dragging his name whenever campaigning and challenged him to face him directly in campaigns.

“I don’t fear Arap Kipindupindu. If he cannot tame his mouth I am ready to face him anytime,” he said in reference to Rutto’s Weston Hotel that was linked to Cholera outbreak.

He added: “He should desist from meddling in our politics. I can handle him if that is what he wants. I do not fear him at all.”

The outspoken senator was accompanied by SONU leader and Embakasi East MP hopeful Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino.

The ODM Deputy Leader had taken a ten days break from active campaigns during the Holy month of Ramadhan.
