Barely a day after government reinstated security details attached to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, the outspoken governor has denied claims that he sent them packing.
On Thursday, a section of security team deployed to man his compound claimed that they had been denied entry to the home believed to be official residence of Joho.
Joho, who spoke to KTN news, dismissed claims that he refused to admit the officers adding that the government had not made any official communication.
“I have not been notified that the officers were deployed to my home and after all I was clear that I do not need officers anymore,” he said.
Joho added: “I relocated from the home because I have lost faith in security apparatus. It is important for them to deploy the officers elsewhere.”
Joho has been at loggerheads with Jubilee government over development issues and has occasionally accused the government of sidelining coastal region.
