Governor Hassan Joho has said he has no opponent in the Mombasa gubernatorial race.
Joho said he has achieved a lot in terms of development, adding that those criticizing him are only engaging in petty politics.
Speaking after meeting youth groups from Kisauni on Sunday, Joho said he believes he will overcome all his court battles and IEBC will allow him to defend his seat in the August polls.
Joho said he is the right person to lead the county for the next five years, as it will give him an opportunity to accomplish the projects he has already started.
“You can all see how we have been working with well-wishers and donors in improving health facilities in Mombasa,” he said.
The county boss said he will soldier on despite being involved in different cases with the government.
“You all know who is fighting me, they have all the powers but my powers are with my people. We are sending this corrupt government home,” said Joho.
He appealed to the youth to back his re-election bid to ensure he retains his seat.
Joho further cautioned the youth against engaging in violence during this electioneering period, and promised to work with them to ensure the county moves forward in terms of development.
