Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has hit out at the Jubilee administration for allegedly sidelining the Coast region.
Speaking when he unveiled Professor William Kingi as his running mate on Thursday, Joho said the current government has done little to change the lives of Mombasa residents.
The county boss said he will not desist from questioning President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto as long as he remains governor.
“We are witnessing modern injustices perpetuated by the current regime. I will not tire to stand up against Uhuru for the sake of our people,” said Joho.
The Governor, who is also the ODM deputy party leader, has had several run-ins with the national government.
Joho has been launching attack after attack against the Jubilee administration, accusing President Kenyatta of hijacking various projects in the county that were funded by foreign organisations.
He cited the Buxton Bridge that was launched by Uhuru, saying it was funded by the World Bank.
He further accused the President of using the projects to hoodwink residents into supporting his re-election bid.
During the re-launch of the Mtongwe Ferry, the Governor was locked out of the event over allegations that he was planning to disrupt the President’s tour.
