Joho spoke on Thursday evening when he addressed their representatives who called on him to ensure their rights are taken into account.

“I will ensure that more people living with disabilities are appointed in government and nominated in the county as well as the National Assembly to give them more say in the running of the county and country affairs,” he said.

This latest move comes a day after he offered youths in the county a total of Sh20,106,000 from the Revolving fund kitty through Mombasa County Department of Youth, Gender & Sports.

These groups mainly comprised of youth, women & persons with disability from Mwakirunge (Kisauni), Kongowea (Nyali), Changamwe, Likoni & Jomvu Sub counties.

The funds which were awarded to successful applicants are meant to empower the groups in their activities within the County and enhance self-sustainability.

To date 465 groups across all sub counties have benefited from this kitty. We will continue to address unemployment in Mombasa through such initiatives.
